eShopAfrica is a fair trade ecommerce web site based in Accra, Ghana, West Africa. Our aim is to create sustainable businesses for traditional African artisans.

eShopAfrica is registered in Ghana as an export company promoting the products from the non-traditional sector and has been trading online since 2001. We are an ethical business and our profits are reinvested in the artisan community to help them grow their business. Where possible we seek out products from the least developed sectors of society such as artisan groups and community organisations.

We are based in Africa are in contact with our artisans. This means we can pass on special orders or design requests. We also give feedback to them on how their products are being used by designers outside Africa. This means they can keep up with taste and fashion and innovate their products to meet market taste. Many artisans express their gratitude at this feedback.

eShopAfrica has been sited as an example of using technology to bridge the digital divide - see the Media section for more details. eShopAfrica is a member of the Fair Trade Federation.
