Baskets from Bolgatanga

These baskets are made by members of the Maata N Tudu Association in Northern Ghana. It is an association of rural women from the three northern regions of Ghana who have come together to improve the quality of their lives through skills training, savings, loans and mutual self-help. Please contact us if you would like to make a special order.

Baskets are a large volume item and shipping costs are based on both weight and volume, so the baskets are squashed for shipping to keep the cost down. When you receive them you should uncrush them and if it is dry is dry where you are, hold each one in the shower for about 15 seconds to dampen it. Then you reshape it and let it dry and it will return to its wonderful shape!
